Day in my life as a Flight Attendant

 ABOUT ME:

Hello, friend! I am Maxim Isabel and I am 24 years old. I went from STI College Global City and graduated in year 2022. Being a flight attendant was already a dream since I was little and that dream is the dream I am already living today.

Come with me as I take you to my flight from Manila to Korea :)

PART 1: PREPARING FOR THE FLIGHT

I've already packed my baggage the night before my flight because I do not want to rush and it is also the best way before traveling on the next day morning to avoid hassle.

It is 3 a.m., and our call time is set for around 7 a.m. Despite having a few more hours to rest, I find myself waking up earlier than necessary. I do this because I need ample time to prepare myself both mentally and physically for the long day ahead. Additionally, I have to gather and organize all the essential items I will need for today’s flight, ensuring that nothing important is forgotten. Whether it’s my uniform, travel documents, or any personal necessities, I prefer to have everything in order before leaving. This extra time also allows me to move at a steady pace without feeling rushed, setting a calm and collected tone for the day.

Now, here I am, sitting in the passenger seat of a Grab car, watching the quiet streets pass by as I head to the airport. There’s something peaceful about traveling before sunrise. The city is still asleep, and the roads are nearly empty—except for a few early risers and fellow travelers making their way to their destinations.

I take this time to gather my thoughts. Did I pack everything? Passport, ID, and my flight essentials? Check. A quick sip of coffee from my tumbler wakes me up a little more. I scroll through my phone, checking messages and any last-minute flight updates.

Being a flight attendant means living a life of constant motion. Early mornings, long-haul flights, changing time zones—it’s all part of the job. But despite the exhaustion, I wouldn’t trade this career for anything. There’s an indescribable feeling of excitement every time I step onto the aircraft, knowing that I’ll be in a different city or country in just a few hours.

As my Grab car nears the airport, I take a deep breath. Another adventure awaits. Time to put on my best smile and get ready to take on the skies.

PART 2: AT THE AIRPPORT

At 6 am, I arrived at the airport all prepared, ready to begin another journey in the skies. Before our flight, my best friend and fellow crew member and I took a few pictures together, capturing the calm yet exciting moments before takeoff. The terminal was still quiet, with only a few early travelers making their way through security. Before heading to our briefing, we made sure to grab a quick meal, knowing that once we were on duty, time to eat would be limited. With our uniforms crisp and our smiles ready, we prepared to welcome passengers and ensure a smooth and enjoyable flight.

As we stepped inside the airplane, the first thing we did was settle our personal belongings in the designated crew areas. We ensured that everything was securely stowed away so we could move freely and be fully prepared for our duties. After that, we conducted a thorough pre-flight check, making sure that all safety equipment was in place and that the cabin was ready for boarding. Once everything was set, we positioned ourselves strategically to welcome and assist passengers as they entered, helping them find their seats, store their luggage properly, and ensuring they felt comfortable before takeoff.

NOTE: We weren't allowed to take pictures while serving the passengers for privacy and safety purposes. :)

PART 3: FIRST STEP IN KOREA

With our almost 4 hours flight, we are now landed in South Korea. Philippine Airlines gave us a 3 days vacation and we love to cherish the memories with all of the crew members. We didn't hesitate to roam around even we are tired from the flight. Here is our first selfie of the day!

After our first trip we finally went in our units in our own rooms that we will stay on for 3 days in Korea. I ordered the famous chicken meals in Korea as I never tried them before and honestly it was really the best chicken I have ever tasted.

After finishing my meal, I took a moment to relax before preparing myself for some much-needed rest. It had been a long and exhausting day, filled with excitement and adventure. From leaving my home in Manila to finally arriving in Korea, the journey had been unforgettable. Every moment—from the airport preparations to the breathtaking view from the airplane window—felt like a dream come true. As I settled in to sleep, I couldn’t help but reflect on the amazing experience, already looking forward to the adventures that awaited me in this new destination.

That is all for my vlog today! I hope you enjoyed coming with me :)

Until we see you again. Thank you!
